Viasat Appoints Gary Chase as Chief Financial Officer

Gary Chase has been appointed as the new Chief Financial Officer of Viasat, a global leader in satellite communications, with effect from September 16, 2024. Chase, who has accumulated a wealth of experience from his time at Delta Air Lines, will succeed Shawn Duffy, who will transition to the position of Chief Accounting Officer. Chase served in numerous critical capacities during his twelve-year tenure at Delta, including Chief Strategy Officer and Senior Vice President of Operational Finance. It is anticipated that his proficiency in operational finance, investor relations, and financial planning will contribute to the advancement of Viasat's strategic objectives, with a particular emphasis on the optimization of the company's capital structure, the integration of its recent acquisition of Inmarsat, and the increase in automation.

Viasat’s Chairman and CEO, Mark Dankberg, praised Chase's operational insights and his familiarity with the company as a former customer. Dankberg also acknowledged Duffy's decade-long contribution as CFO, during which Viasat’s revenue tripled to $4.5 billion. Viasat, with a mission to connect people worldwide across various industries, recently expanded its capabilities through its acquisition of Inmarsat in 2023.
