The individuals on this year’s list display impressive expertise in a variety of sectors, yet they all utilize their strong foundations in the world of finance to keep their companies moving in the right direction, driving growth and profitability.

Among this year’s awardees, we’re proud to honor Evan Lomrantz, CFO of The Palm Beaches, who modernized the company’s processes to more effectively use its $21 million budget. Next, we have José Molina, CFO of Spanish Broadcasting System, who guides the financial strategy for this pioneer in Spanish-language radio. Lastly, as EVP and CEO of Seacoast Bank, Tracey Dexter has solidified herself as an integral part of this 98-year-old organization through her financial knowledge and expertise.

1. Mike Koempel
Chief Financial Officer, Superior Group of Companies

Mike Koempel has been Chief Financial Officer of Superior Group of Companies since 2022. Koempel has more than 30 years of experience in various financial roles, with an impressive record of scaling high-growth apparel and retail brands. He began his career at Arthur Andersen in 1991, with other CFO roles for major brands such as IT’SUGAR®, Victoria’s Secret Lingerie, and Mast Global (L Brands). Between 1998 and 2007, Koempel served in various financial positions at L Brands, including vice president of corporate finance and financial reporting. He holds a bachelor’s of business administration from the University of Dayton and is also a licensed CPA.

 

2. Adrian Grinspan
CFO, Americas Region, Verifone

Adrian Grinspan brings 32 years of experience to his role as CFO, Americas Region of Verifone, a global FinTech leader and payment architect shaping ecosystems for online and in-person commerce experiences, including everything from secure payment devices to eCommerce tools, acquiring services, advanced business insights, and more. The Verifone platform is built on a four-decade history of innovation and provides omni-commerce solutions to companies in over 165 countries. It is trusted by the world’s best-known brands, small businesses, and major financial institutions. Annually, the company manages more than 14 billion transactions worth over $450 billion on physical and digital channels.

Grinspan has extensive experience managing business operations and financial matters for Fortune 500 companies in global markets. Grinspan began his career in 1992, and early on, worked with NCR Argentina and Uruguay as a treasurer. Before joining Verifone, Grinspan was a global FP&A director, wireless division at Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise and before that a trade and customer finance director at Lucent Technologies. Grinspan graduated from Universidad del CEMA with a master’s in finance and from Universidad de Belgrano with an MPA.

 

3. David Waltzer
Chief Financial Officer, Wellpath

David Waltzer began his professional career 36 years ago, and today he is the Chief Financial Officer of Wellpath, the premier provider of localized, high-quality, compassionate care to patients in challenging clinical environments, focusing on rigorous standards of care and innovation. With nearly 15,000 clinicians and professionals in 36 states across the U.S. and Australia, Wellpath provides medical and mental healthcare services to over 260,000 patients daily in state hospitals, forensic treatment, civil commitment centers, community care centers as well as local, state, and federal correctional facilities.

Waltzer first got his start in 1988 as an Arthur Andersen - senior auditor at Accenture. From there, he went on to Lockheed Martin, before eventually rising to chief financial officer at National Dentex, LLC, his most recent position prior to joining Wellpath. Waltzer graduated from the University of Baltimore with his M.S. in finance and from the University of Maryland Baltimore County with an undergraduate degree in economics and accounting.

 

4. Fidel Dhana
Chief Financial Officer, Zumba Fitness

Fidel Dhana is the Chief Financial Officer of Zumba Fitness, a global lifestyle brand that fuses fitness, entertainment and culture into an exhilarating dance-party workout. Known as the ultimate "fitness-party", Zumba® classes blend upbeat world rhythms with easy-to-follow choreography, for an effective, total-body workout.

With over 25 years of experience in finance and accounting, Dhana is a certified public accountant and an expert in US GAAP, financial reporting, taxes, and compliance. He is also proficient in budgeting, forecasting, ERP system implementation and integration, ensuring cohesive business operations. Dhana joined Zumba Fitness as VP of Accounting and held multiple roles before assuming his current role. Previously, Dhana was a VP of finance and corporate controller at Selling Source and VP of finance at Rewards Network. He started his career in 1993 as a supervising senior accountant at KPMG Peat Marwick. Dhana earned an MBA from University of Florida and an undergraduate degree in accounting from Florida International University - College of Business.

 

5. Michael Pretzsch
Chief Financial Officer, ITS, JM Family Enterprises

Michael Pretzsch is the Chief Financial Officer, ITS of JM Family Enterprises, a company founded by the automotive legend Jim Moran in 1968. It is a privately held company in the business of helping other businesses succeed, with $18 billion in revenue and more than 5,000 associates. As a long-term partner, JM Family Enterprises is invested in its companies, associates, and communities, with current subsidiaries in the automotive, financial services, franchising, and specialty distribution industries.

Previously, Pretzsch was a director of financial planning and analysis - investments and productivity at Citi and before that a head of card planning and analysis, executive director at JPMorgan Chase & Co. Earlier in his career he worked with GE Capital and Deutsche Bank. Pretzsch earned an undergraduate degree in accounting and finance from Lancaster University.

 

6. Sarwar Uddin
Chief Financial Officer, Olympusat

Sarwar Uddin is an experienced CFO who currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer at Olympusat, a renowned international media and entertainment company. In this role, Sarwar offers executive guidance to the accounting and finance sectors in support of the company’s strategic plans. Additionally, he collaborates with the executive team to formulate and execute business strategies aimed at fostering the growth and development of Olympusat’s business and organizational culture. In 2023, Sarwar played a key role in the company’s debt funding raise and initiated several projects to automate complex tasks and enable data-driven decision-making.

Sarwar has held the role of CFO and similar leadership positions in a variety of companies from startups to large organizations. He has a wide range of accomplishments, including saving $20 million for multiple companies by introducing productivity improvements. He has led effective turnarounds, numerous capital raises, helped a company up-list onto the Nasdaq Capital Market, and successfully executed multiple strategic exits. Sarwar has a Master of Accountancy from Florida Atlantic University and a Master of Science in Business Administration from Florida International University. Sarwar is also a licensed CPA in Florida and Delaware.

 

7. James Grady
Chief Financial Officer, West Marine

James Grady is the Chief Financial Officer of West Marine, bringing a strong track record of success at building, developing, and leading high-impact teams. For more than 50 years, West Marine has been the premier retailer of boating, fishing, sailing, and paddling gear, with 236 stores located in 38 states and Puerto Rico and an eCommerce website reaching domestic, international, and professional customers. West Marine is recognized as a leading resource for cruisers, sailors, anglers, yachters, and other boating enthusiasts.

Grady's career spans 35 years, and before joining West Marine, he was a chief financial officer at Pet Valu. Before that, he was president of Office Depot International at Office Depot. Earlier in his career, he worked with Arthur Andersen & Co. Grady graduated from Louisiana State University with an undergraduate degree in accounting.

 

 

8. Robert Riesenberg
Chief Financial Officer, EBG

Robert J. Riesenberg is a seasoned accounting professional with over a decade of diverse experience spanning industry and public accounting. Riesenberg utilizes an innovative approach to financial management as he blends the traditional skill sets of a CPA with the communication skills of a marketing professional and the strategic acumen of a small business owner. In his current role as CFO of EBG, he is responsible for managing the financing & accounting, risk management, legal, and HR departments, in addition to driving financial strategies that prioritize efficiency and sustainability.

Throughout his career, Riesenberg has been instrumental in implementing automated solutions, streamlining processes, and driving organizational growth. Prior to EBG, Riesenberg was the director of finance for nearly five years, for what is now Hard Rock Stadium and the Miami Dolphins. In addition, he provided assurance services for both public and private entities with Rachlin Cohen & Holtz (now Marcum). Before becoming a CPA, he enjoyed a career in marketing and as a small business owner that spanned over 10 years. Riesenberg graduated from The Ohio State University and received a master’s in accounting from Nova Southeastern University and a master’s in sports administration from St. Thomas University.

 

9. Tracey Dexter
EVP and Chief Financial Officer, Seacoast Bank

Tracey Dexter was appointed CFO of Seacoast Bank in June 2020, originally having joined the company in 2017 as SVP, controller where she led the accounting and financial reporting functions, including SEC and regulatory reporting. Since 1926, Seacoast has provided integrated financial services including commercial and consumer banking, wealth management, and mortgage services to customers at over 75 branches across Florida, and through advanced mobile and online banking solutions.

Before joining Seacoast, Dexter spent 12 years with PwC’s Banking and Capital Markets practice, beginning with audit and advisory roles with financial institutions throughout Florida, During a two-year tour in PwC’s National SEC Services Group, Dexter consulted with a global client base on capital markets activities and complex SEC matters relating to accounting, auditing, and financial reporting. As a senior manager in New York City, Dexter led a large team of accounting professionals serving a premier multinational financial institution. Her areas of professional focus also included internal controls and accounting policy development. Additionally, Dexter served as an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers before her promotion to manager, where she worked across 25 clients in the banking, asset management, and Fintech space prior to her most recent role as senior manager.

Dexter earned a bachelor of science degree in finance from Florida State University and a bachelor of business administration in accounting from Florida Atlantic University. She is also a licensed CPA in Florida.

 

10. Daniel Wobby
Chief Financial Officer, Moss & Associates

Daniel Wobby brings 39 years of experience to his role as Chief Financial Officer of Moss & Associates. Moss is a national privately held construction firm providing innovative solutions that result in award-winning projects. With regional offices across the United States, Moss focuses on construction management, solar EPC, and design-build, with a portfolio encompassing a wide range of sectors including luxury high-rise residential, landmark mixed-use developments, hospitality, K-12 and higher education, solar energy and battery storage, and sports. Moss is ranked by Engineering News-Record as the nation’s top solar contractor and one of the top 50 general contractors.

Before joining Moss & Associates, Wobby was a vice president of global sales at Cabot Microelectronics and before that, he was a finance director at Cabot Corporation. Earlier in his career, he worked with Arthur Andersen & Co. as an audit senior. Wobby graduated from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business with an MBA and from Saint Michael's College with an undergraduate degree in accounting and business management.

 

11. Michael Riggle
Chief Financial Officer, Sailormen

Michael Riggle is the Chief Financial Officer of Sailormen. Sailormen, Inc., is part of the Quick Service Restaurants and Other Eating Places Industry. Sailormen, Inc. and has 2,200 total employees across all of its 200 locations, generating millions in sales. Sailormen Incorporated is a franchisee and operator of Popeye's Chicken and Biscuits restaurants and operates restaurants in both Florida and Georgia.

Previously, Riggle was a chief financial officer at Consolidated Taco Holdings and before that a CFO at Consolidated Restaurant Group. Earlier in his career, he worked with Carr, Riggs & Ingram, LLC as a senior accountant. Riggle earned an MBA in business administration and an undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of Montevallo.

 

12. Mark Seltzer
Chief Financial Officer, Pet Supermarket

Pet Supermarket’s financial strategy is led by Mark Seltzer who began his professional career 35 years ago, currently serving as the company’s CFO. Pet Supermarket is a one-stop shop offering a broad selection of premium pet food, supplies, and services sold by trained professional staff who provide knowledgeable and friendly assistance, with over 220 locations in addition to a robust e-commerce experience.

Seltzer first got his start in 1989 as a senior accountant at Transamerica Fund Management. From there, he went on to KPMG Peat Marwick, before eventually rising to vice president of finance at Claire's, his most recent position before joining Pet Supermarket. Seltzer graduated from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business with an MBA and from The University of Texas at Austin with an undergraduate degree in finance.

 

 

13. Marcelo Brunetta
Chief Financial Officer, Apple Leisure Group

Marcelo Brunetta is the Chief Financial Officer of Apple Leisure Group. Brunetta has 31 years of experience in financial roles. Before joining Apple Leisure Group, Brunetta was a senior global operation controller at Johnson Controls and before that, a controller at Insol Intertrading do Brasil S.A. Earlier in his career, he worked with Arthur Andersen Business Consulting as a senior auditor. Brunetta graduated from FAE Centro Universitário with an undergraduate degree in accounting and an MBA in business administration and management.

 

14. Christina Kendrix
Chief Financial Officer, The Service Companies

Christina Kendrix first joined The Service Companies in 2019 as corporate controller and is now the company’s CFO, overseeing the finance and accounting teams. The Service Companies is the premier service provider to the hospitality, gaming, healthcare, education, and corporate cafeteria industries. They deliver best-in-class cleaning, staffing, and managed labor services.

Kendrix has experience working in a variety of industries, including construction, manufacturing, and distribution. Previously, Kendrix was a VP of finance and controller at Workscapes, Inc., and before that a corporate controller at Expedited World Cargo. Earlier in her career she worked with Aegion Corporation as an assistant controller. Kendrix holds a B.S. in accounting and an MBA from Maryville University and is also a Certified Public Accountant.

 

15. Suchet Singh
Chief Financial Officer, Terra Energy

Suchet Singh is the Chief Financial Officer of Terra Energy, bringing 25 years of experience in finance and accounting to the role. Terra Energy is the leading rooftop solar provider in Mexico and one of the fastest-growing providers in the U.S.

Singh’s background includes roles at companies such as General Electric, Siemens, Google, Amazon, and Ernst & Young. He has extensive experience in mergers & acquisitions, having participated in over 80 deals. Additionally, as a mechanical engineer, he has deep knowledge in the power engineering industry. Singh graduated from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management with an MBA and from Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology with an undergraduate degree in engineering.

 

16. Dean Sorrentino
Chief Financial Officer, Balfour

Dean Sorrentino is the Chief Financial Officer of Balfour. Formerly known as American Achievement Corporation and Iconic Group, Balfour & Co. is one of the largest commencement services companies leading the industry in digital product innovation by helping students and their families celebrate and commemorate the most meaningful moments in their lives. The company operates throughout North America with around 5,000 team members.

Sorrentino has 28 years of experience. Before joining Balfour, Sorrentino was a chief financial officer and board of directors member at Trividia Health, Inc., and before that a vice president controller at CompuPay. Earlier in his career he worked with Deloitte & Touche as an audit manager. Sorrentino graduated from Florida International University with his master's in accounting and from the University of Florida with an undergraduate degree in accounting.

 

17. Derick Jaindl
Chief Financial Officer, MobileHelp

Derick Jaindl is the Chief Financial Officer at MobileHelp, a leading healthcare technology provider of Remote Life Safety and Remote Patient Monitoring solutions to over 300,000 end users. Jaindl has more than two decades of experience in developing finance organizations. He is a strategic CFO, adept at scaling detailed tactical accounting to macro business strategy. He has served as a key confidant and advisor, contributing to the vision and evolution of businesses across multiple industries, and has successfully negotiated the expansion of debt facilities, acquisitions, and business exits. Jaindl also has an extensive track record of upgrading reporting, analytics, and processes to drive business performance.

Jaindl joined MobileHelp from MEDNAX, a health solutions partner, where he served as VP, financial planning and analysis. Prior to that role, he was a senior director of finance for Comcast Cable and a director of finance for ADT Security. Jaindl has an extensive background in financial analysis, strategic planning, controllership, and process improvement.

Jaindl holds a Master of Accounting from the University of Miami, a Master of Business Administration from Drexel University, and a B.S. in finance from Babson College. He is a graduate of General Electric’s Financial Management Program (FMP) and Six Sigma program, in addition to being an actively licensed CPA.

 

18. Catherine Cahill
Chief Financial Officer, Ardurra

Catherine Cahill first joined Ardurra in 2018 as finance director and is now the company’s Chief Financial Officer. Ardurra is a multidisciplinary services firm of experts, engineers, and design professionals delivering a unique balance of experience and innovation.

Cahill is highly skilled in financial planning and analysis, business operations, and cost accounting, with a demonstrated history of leadership in a variety of sectors, including engineering, architecture, and design. Previously, Cahill was a finance director at Atkins North America and before that a regional business manager - east at AECOM. Earlier in her career she worked with Spillis Candela & Partners as a controller. Cahill earned an undergraduate degree in accounting from Florida International University.

 

19. Andres Advincula
Chief Financial Officer, Bottom Line Concepts

Andres Advincula is the Chief Financial Officer of Bottom Line Concepts, a cost-reduction consulting company focused on saving money and obtaining refunds for companies throughout the U.S. and Canada. Their results help organizations retain their employees while increasing corporate profitability and enhancing a company’s business valuation.

Advincula began his career in 1989 and brings 35 years of experience to his current role. Before joining Bottom Line Concepts, Advincula was a chief financial officer at Berkowitz Pollack Brant Advisors and Accountants and before that a controller at New Fortress Energy. Earlier in his career, he worked with Pepsi Beverages Company in logistics. Advincula graduated from Florida International University with an M.A. in accounting.

 

20. Ron Wall
Chief Financial Officer, Blount Fine Foods

Ron Wall began his professional career 22 years ago. Today, he is the Chief Financial Officer of Blount Fine Foods, a family-owned and operated manufacturer, marketer, and developer of fresh prepared foods. While best known for soup, the company produces hundreds of premium prepared food products for restaurants, institutions, retailers, and club stores in all 50 states.

Wall first got his start in 2002 as a vice president of finance at Diageo. From there, he went on to William Grant & Sons, before eventually rising to chief financial officer at Splash Beverage Group Inc., his most recent position prior to joining Blount Fine Foods. Wall graduated from the University of Miami with an MBA in business and commerce and from St. Cloud State University with an undergraduate degree in business and international finance.

 

21. Felix Beccar
Chief Financial Officer, MURAL

MURAL’s global finance team is led by its CFO, Felix Beccar. Beccar first joined the company in 2019 as VP of finance & operations. Beccar earned an MBA in business administration and management from INSEAD and an undergraduate degree in Bilingual baccalaureate from Colegio Cardenal Newman.

 

22. Greg Heller
Chief Financial Officer, Motus

Earlier in his career, he worked with Ernst & Young Corporate Finance as a senior consultant. Heller graduated from Fordham Gabelli School of Business with his MBA in finance and accounting and from Hobart and William Smith Colleges with an undergraduate degree in Middle Eastern affairs.

 

23. José Molina
Chief Financial Officer, Spanish Broadcasting System

José Molina is the CFO of Spanish Broadcasting System, and is responsible for their financial affairs, and operational and investor relations matters. Spanish Broadcasting System (SBS) is a media company specializing in Spanish-speaking audiences, and is one of the largest owners and operators of radio stations in the United States. Additionally, SBS owns Mega TV, a network television operation, produces live concerts and events, and owns a stable of digital properties.

Molina has over 20 years of experience in corporate finance leadership and public accounting roles including broad experience in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, and corporate restructuring. Previously, Molina was the SVP and CFO, networks at Univision Communications and was responsible for their overall controllership and financial performance. Prior to Univision, he was president and CFO at MundoMax, a Spanish-language broadcast television network that had over 50 affiliate stations nationwide. There he directed all accounting, finance, treasury, tax, and corporate governance functions while navigating the company through a period of change. Among other accomplishments, he directed the migration of business partners after the buyout of the joint venture partner FOX, developing the dissolution strategy.

Molina’s other prior roles include SVP of finance at SBS and assurance professional at KPMG LLP. He holds a Master of Professional Accounting and a B.S. in accounting with honors from the Fischer School of Accounting at the University of Florida, in addition to being a licensed CPA.

 

24. Evan Lomrantz
Chief Financial Officer, The Palm Beaches

Evan Lomrantz is the Chief Financial Officer of The Palm Beaches, the official tourism marketing corporation that promotes the collection of 39 cities and towns, along with 15 tourism districts, commonly referred to as The Palm Beaches, Florida.

For the past four years, Lomrantz has overseen the financial, human resources, and community engagement functions for Discover The Palm Beaches. Lomrantz has modernized the agency’s financial reporting and processes, having introduced technologies that resulted in the effective and timely use of the organization’s $21 million budget. In addition to his finance and administration role, he has also championed the equity, diversity, and inclusion strategic pillar for the organization through multiple facets. Lomrantz promotes improved alignment and community engagement amongst residents, providing a greater understanding of the tourism industry and the shared community value that destination marketing and development represent.

Previously, Lomrantz was a treasurer at PGA of America and before that an assistant controller at TBC Corporation. Earlier in his career, he worked with Rite Aid as a staff accountant. Lomrantz earned an MBA in accounting and finance and an undergraduate degree in accounting from York College of Pennsylvania.

 

25. Sam Sharff
Chief Financial Officer, Blue Ridge
